In Memory - Zak Watson
Winner of the 2018 Competition
Experiment 012- Saffron Weaver
3rd Place
Saffron Weaver has been producing short films since 2013 and was made a YouTube partner in 2015 for her channel, Sugar'n'Spice Saffie.  Experiment 012 is about a divorced mother and her child who move into a new house. 200 years prior, this was the location of Dr. Rickersberg's grotesque experiments. While unpacking, the protagonist finds an unusual object, which awakens deadly spirits from the past.
Zak Watson is an amateur filmmaker, who explores new and exciting ways of presenting visual storytelling, influenced by filmmakers such as Pontus Alv. "In Memory" is a film created in 2017-18 shot on DCR footage. It explores a band who are influenced by the psychedelic world of drugs. However, this drug influence is abused as we see the band fall apart and disintegrate. The characters are trapped in the world of the psychedelia where the band and its fame can never be reached again.
